A recording of our latest webinar Micro- and Nanoplastics and Public Health: EU research findings is now available. Over 200 people attended the webinar on 25 June 2024, hosted by EDC Strategies Partnership and moderated by Genon Jensen, Executive Director at the Environment and Health Alliance (HEAL) and a POLYRISK partner.

Featuring Dr Hubert Dirven from POLYRISK and Prof Roel Vermeulen from the AURORA research project as speakers, the webinar covered the latest science on the health impacts of micro- and nanoplastics. More specifically, they discussed how these plastic particles may impact our immune system, pregnancy, and development in early life.

As well as providing an overview of where MNPs are found and how we are exposed to them, Hubert also shared the latest findings from a POLYRISK study examining the impact of MNPs inhaled by playing sports on indoor soccer fields. Participants also heard more about AURORA’s progress in developing an actionable European roadmap for early-life health risk assessment of MNPs from Roel.
